Blackberry 10 pre-release images leaked!!
Just when everyone was writing off Blackberry, the pre-release images of the latest product from RIM, - the Blackberry 10 – were leaked by an online website called Crackberry. The images look authentic enough for us to believe that it might be the real deal, but again a lot could change by the time the product is released. However the big surprise is that the Blackberry 10, a touch phone, has a design that’s very similar to the Windows Phone devices. For example there is the Tiles concept rather than an icon concept, then these tiles are also Live Tiles like the Windows Phone, which means they constantly looks for data and push the updates on the tile.

If you look at the image you will also notice that there is the one touch search button on the start screen. I’m guessing it will also be used to bring up the search browser and not just do a local device search.
Also the Blackberry 10 is supposed to have the universal inbox, which again is a feature from the Windows Phone where you can link all your different inboxes into one single view and then group the messages under the same subject. The look and feel is however very different than the Windows Phone’s Outlook design. Here’s a peek of the Universal Inbox:

Finally the typography used in the new Blackberry seems very similar to the Metro design’s typography. Very bold clear and straightforward. Here a leaked image of the dial pad.

I must say that based on the images the Blackberry 10 indeed makes for an impressive design. RIM has been harping that this year could bring about a change in fortunes and have been asking their customers and supports to be patient. Will this change the tide?
