Waterproof phones

In what is touted as the latest innovation which will directly aid the electronic gadget industry at large and smartphones in particular, a couple of companies have found a way to make your smartphone totally waterproof even if you drop it under water.

This innovation was displayed at the CES where two companies, HzO and Liquipel, displayed their waterproofing solutions which directly help the smartphones owners who always complained that they have to be careful to make sure the phone is not exposed to any water. Here are the solutions from these two companies:

Liquipel

Liquipel is a southern California based company and has done a lot of research in waterproofing solutions. Their product is a transparent liquid that needs to be applied on the parts of the gadget and then it makes the gadget water resistant. So if you want to waterproof your smartphone you need to give your phone to them and they will dismantle all the parts right to the smallest part. Then then apply the transparent waterproof liquid to the parts and they put it back and give it to you. They charge $60 for all of this.

HzO

HzO’s product is called WaterBlock and that too is a transparent liquid which when applied on the part of a gadget will make it water resistant. WaterBlock however doesn’t provide customized service and they are aiming to sell their product to the smartphone manufactures such that the phones are sold as a waterproof phone. HzO claims that gadgets that have WaterBlock applied can be dropped under water upto a depth of 1 meter without any affect to the phone.

So very soon you will be able to take your phone for a swim without worrying about the phone going kaput.
