The industry is abuzz with the next version of XBox 360, the hugely popular and industry leader in gaming consoles. While there is no concrete information on what the next version is going to be called or what is going to be new about it, the code name that the industry and the analysts have given is Xbox 720. Obviously this is not the official name and until the official word comes from Redmond, you can search for the Xbox 360’s successor with the name Xbox 720.
Anyway, now that we’re got the rumor about the product name, let’s get you some other rumors that are doing the rounds across the web. The most significant of the news coming about the next Xbox is that it is going to be 3D enabled, which is not a real innovation because there are 3D games already available but what is going to be bungled in with 3D is a touch enabled display (beneficial at least for the non-Kinect games). What might actually be available in the next version is a Blu-ray player, Kinect 2, and a really sophisticated graphics card. If the rumor is to be believed then the Xbox 720 is going to be 6 times more powerful than the Xbox 360.
Whatever the rumor and whatever be the name, it doesn’t appear that the product will be out this year and Xbox enthusiasts can expect it only by 2013. This year belongs to Windows 8 and everything surrounding Windows 8.
