Nokia all set to release 2 new Windows Phone models – Lumia 610 and 900

After a resounding success with the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 smartphones, the company has gained confidence in its performance in the smartphone market and has decided to release two more phones as early as next week. The two phones tentatively named Lumia 610 and Lumia 900 are going to sit at the two extremes of the price spectrum. While the 610 is going to be extremely budget friendly the 900 is going to be the high-end phone which is LTE enabled, includes a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen, a rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, and dual LED flash.

The 900 is being showcased and demoed by Nokia as their flagship product and wants to poach some of the Android and iPhone users who primarily look for high-end features in a smartphone. But the focus of Nokia is not just this end of the spectrum because Nokia is traditionally known to be the leader in the budget phones and it would want to take a low-end smartphone to that market. If it does succeed then it would mean that not only will it rake in a lot of revenue but also it will be the segment leader.

Apparently Nokia has received positive response on the 900 in the US, so it is planning on a global release of the 900 model some time later this month.

All this is a huge gamble for both the companies and if it works out could just resurrect Nokia and at the same time will make Microsoft a force to reckon with in the smartphone market.
