Nook Tablet
The second version of the Nook tablet from Barnes and Noble is all set for a release this week. This version of the Nook will be an 8 GB tablet and will have processor speed that is faster than it its predecessor. B&N is hoping that this version of the Nook will give some sort of competition to the Kindle Fire. The first version of the Nook sank without a trace and part of the reason was the resounding success of the Kindle Fire. The other reason of course being the price difference between the Nook and Fire. `While the Nook sold for $249, the Fire was for about $100 less at $199.
This time around however, the Nook is coming around with the price and though there is no official confirmation on the price the buzz is that it is going to be way less than the predecessor simply because they cut down on the storage size by half. However there are other unknown elements like the processor speed, RAM, expansion slots etc that may very well be the deciding factor. For the moment though, the second version of the Nook is generating some news. The timing of the release too seems to be perfect. There have been no new releases or updates from competitors recently and the iPad 3 is not set to launch till second week of March. This basically means the Nook has couple of months of the market all for itself.
But will it make most of the situation is what time will tell.
