Visual Studio 11

The latest edition of Visual Studio seems to be ready for a Beta release this week. This information was released via a webcast by Microsoft executives where they also showcased some of the capabilities of the tools. Apart from Visual Studio 11, the other tools that will be released at this time are Visual Studio 11 Team Foundation Server and .NET Framework 4.5 development tools.

This is great news for all the developer folks because this version of Visual Studio apart from the regular Windows and Web development options will also include options and template for creating Metro styled apps. The previous version already had options to create Windows Phone apps and this version is bound to not just focus on Windows Phone apps but also apps for the Windows 8 platform.

The developer version of the Visual Studio 11 is been out in the open from last September and this version will most likely include new features that is set to improve the experience of the developers. Now it is very interesting to note that the when the developer version of Visual Studio was released even Windows 8 developer version was released. Now even the betas of both the products have been times such that they release around the same time. With Windows 8 it makes strategic sense because they need the developers to start developing apps for Windows 8 and for that the developers need to have Visual Studio. So it’s all well timed.
